PADI OPEN WATER DIVING COURSE

Scuba Diving has always been fun and safe. The entry level is the PADI Open Water Diver Course, this dive course is the beginning of all your underwater adventures. Children as young as 10 years old can participate in the PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course too. So the family could start the scuba diving together.

Under a close supervision from our Qualified PADI Dive Instructors, Safety is our primary goal.

If you just want to have an experience of SCUBA underwater, you can also try our PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program. Perfect if you are not sure if you like the full course!

Our PADI Referral Course offers flexibility where you can either complete your theory session or open seas session with us.

PADI Dive Course Pre-requisite:

• Minimum 10 years old

• Be able to swim 200 meters or snorkel 300 meters

• Be able to float on water without any swimming aids for 10 minutes

• Be able to answer "NO" in the following RSTC medical statement
  * (If you have any "YES" you will need to consult and get a physician's approval before the commencement of the course)

Student to Instructor ratio => 6 : 1

Course Fees as indicated above:

Pulau Aur (Malaysia): $449 (Available from March till November 2011)

Pulau Tioman (Malaysia): $499 (Available from March till November 2011)

Pulau Hantu (Singapore): $349 (Available from Mid Nov 2011 till February 2012)

Female Instructor Request:

Minimum group size should be 4 participants, and an extra of SGD $40 per participant.

Additional Equipment Rental Charges throughout Whole Course Duration:

Rental of Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Wetsuit, BCD, Regulator set, Dive Computer, and Weight Belt are available upon request at $180 per set throughout the entire course. If you own some of the dive gears, the rental charges will be lower. Please check with us for the rates.

Waikiki Dive Centre is the only dive centre in Singapore that incorporates Dive Computers in the PADI Education Programs. Additional PADI Junior Open Water Charges (10-15 Years of age)

Due to the increased instructor to Junior Divers ratio, there's an additional surcharge of SGD $150 per PADI Junior Open Water Diver enrolled.

The following steps are the procedures for the course registration:

Step 1: Course Registration (Paper work, Self Study, and Exam Session)

Registration of the PADI Open Water Dive Course is to be done at least 7 Days in advance, prior to the commencement of Exam Session. Please note all your passport details, and bring along 2 colored passport sized photographs for the registration course.

Participants should come to Waikiki Dive Centre to make payment for the dive course by Cash or Nets, collect required study materials, and complete the registration by filling out the Student Profile, Liability Releases and Medical Statement. Generally Participant should be in good health status, otherwise a doctor's opinion should be seek when in doubt.

Upon Registration, participants will receive the dive manual and dive planner for self study. It will  take approximately 6 to 8 hrs or 1 week for the self study. Participants will have to complete all 5 knowledge reviews in the dive manual during this Self Study period. These knowledge reviews are to be handed in during your Exam Session.

The Exam Session will be held at our training centre at Luzerne #01-02, just 10 minutes away from our retail outlet. Upon completion of the Key Points in the PADI Open Water Lesson Guide, the Open Water Quiz & Final Exam will be administered. 75% passing score is required in each section.

Step 2: Pool Sessions 1 & 2

The 2 Pool Sessions is where you develop the motor skills required for safe and enjoyable diving. It will be held in Outram Secondary School from 1830-2200 hrs. During the pool session, skills from Modules 1 to 5 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course will be taught by the PADI Dive Instructor. Upon Mastery of these skills, you will be evaluated in the Open Sea Dives.

Step 3: Open Sea Dives                                                                      

The Open Sea Dives will be held over the weekend in Malaysia or Singapore, according to the diving season. Skills learnt in the pool sessions are evaluated in the open sea to ensure that participants are confident in the underwater world. SAFE Diving Practice is further reinforced by our PADI Dive Instructors; and at the same time, remembering to get lots of fun underwater!
